GMAA Coaching

How do I sign up?

Email Kasie Enman: coach@gmaa.net.

Who is the GMAA Coach:

My name is Kasie Enman. I have been running competitively for about two decades now and own PRs of 16:54 for 5k, 35:05 for 10k, 1:15:15 for half marathon, and 2:37:14 at the marathon (Note: This is an identical tie with my husband, Eli, for the household marathon PR. He’s going down.) Off the roads, I compete for the Salomon International trail running team, am a mother of two young children, and consume lots of chocolate.

What the GMAA Coach offers:

  • A training plan. Everyone will receive a general training plan including recommendations for quality workouts and overall mileage that builds over time. As we approach goal races in the schedule, coaching also includes specific race preparation tips.
  • Email correspondence. In addition to the training plan, you may also email the coach at coach@gmaa.net with questions and for advice about fitting the plan to your individual running & racing goals. Please allow up to a week for email response.
  • In person check-ins. From April through October we host weekly coached group track workouts. Check our website gmaa.net or email coach@gmaa.net for specific times, dates and locations for these workouts as the schedule is subject to change. Any winter training opportunities will also be shared on our website and Facebook page.

What the GMAA Team Racer (you!) is responsible for:

  • Committing to race for the GMAA team at (at least one of) the races the current block of training is focused on. Note: This is not a requirement, but is strongly encouraged!
  • Wearing a GMAA singlet/shirt during the race. The club provides singlets/shirts at cost. Visit the GMAA clothing link for details.
  • Obtaining a USATF-New England membership ($30 per year), available on-line at usatf.org. Remember to list your team as GMAA, club 79 of the New England Association.
  • Paying for the race cost. Most of the team races have a discounted entry fee when the team signs up together. We have complimentary group transportation to most away races, AND after you’ve done two USATF Team Races, GMAA covers your entry fee for the rest of that year!

Who can run on the GMAA team?

  • Any GMAA member can run for the GMAA. If you aren’t a member, consider joining! If you aren’t sure if your membership is up-to-date email us to inquire. A membership application can be found here: https://gmaa.net/members/. It’s only $10!
  • Speed is not a qualification. Remember, all can run, the fastest score, but we all have a fun time!
