42nd Annual |
| COURSE: | The certified (VT09006RF and VT90002WN) marathon and half-marathon begin and end near
the house where Clarence H. Demar (7 time Boston Marathon Winner) once
lived, is out and back on the west shore of South Hero and Grand Isle;
a land of farms, apple orchards and summer cottages. The terrain
is flat to rolling and about half dirt road (hard packed and well maintained).
The time cut off for the marathon is six hours. |

| AID STATIONS: | There will be an aid station Approximately every 2 miles starting at mile 2 and stopping at mile 24 for a total of 12 aid stations (2-3 porta-potties on course). Additional assistance
will be available to runners in the form of Rescue Squad and pick-up vehicles.

| REGISTRATION: | Pre-registration only, fill out form located here or register online (online registration closes Sep 24).
Entry fee for marathon is $50 (GMAA members subtract $10). Entry fee for half marathon is $30 (GMAA members subtract $5). |

| PACKET PICK-UP: |
Friday 12-7pm at SkiRack Saturday 10-2pm at SkiRack & 4-7pm at Folsom School Sunday 7-8am at Folsom School SKIRACK (located at 85 Main Street, in Burlington, VT) will be offering a 20% discount on all running gear to anyone who presents a GMM race Bib October 12th-October 15th. |

| DIRECTIONS: | South Hero, Vermont is approximately 20 miles
from Burlington (nearest major airport). From Burlington, take I-89
north to the Milton/Lake Champlain Islands Exit 17 (Route 2); take Route
2 north and west to South Hero; South Street is a left turn in the center
of South Hero village at the 4 corners. Folsom School is 1 mile down
South Street on the left.
From New York, take exit 39 off Interstate 87 (Plattsburg) and take route 314 to the ferry across the lake; After the ferry turn right; at route 2 turn right and head towards South Hero Village. Burlington, Vermont is located 100 miles from Montreal,
200 miles from Boston and 300 miles from New York City, and is easily accessible
via interstate highways and Burlington International Airport.

| RESULTS: | Awards presentation promptly at 1:00 p.m.
Results will be sent to the web sites of the GMAA,
New
England Runner and Cool Running.
Additionally, results will be sent to The Burlington Free Press and Vermont
Sports Today for publication.

| AWARDS: |
Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers as well as the top male and female finisher in each age-group.
Medals to all marathon finishers. |

| SPAGHETTI DINNER: | Spaghetti Dinner 5-7 pm Saturday, October 13th Adults $10.00 Children under 10 $5.00 Folsom School South Street South Hero, VT Proceeds to benefit 7th & 8th Grade Class Trip |

| LODGING: | It is advised to make accommodations
in advance. Fall Foliage is winding down by race weekend but finding
accommodations can be difficult at this time of year due to College Home
Comings and other local events.

| ATTRACTIONS: | If you can picture the Lake Champlain Islands
in mid-October, then you have reason to join us. If you have never
seen Vermont or the 'Islands' in October, then you have even more reason
to join us with your entire family.

happen. If you or anyone you know would like to volunteer at our
race, we would greatly appreciate it. We need volunteers in the following
areas: Water Stops/Aid Stations, Crossing Guards/Course Marshals, Registration,
Finish Line, Results, Traffic/Parking, Runner Food Preparation.
