COURSE:
COURSE: Due to renovation of the Shelburne Beach this fall, the course will be run backwards.  It will be a Certified ((VT02004WN)) 10K out and back through Charlotte to Shelburne.  This fast course is a mix of dirt and paved roads and has please scenery - apple orchards, views along Lake Champlain, and the covered bridge near the start and finish line.  The start and finish is at Charlotte Beach and proceeds along Lake, Orchard and Bostwick roads.  Water stops are approximately at 2 and 4 miles. 
NOTE: Mile markers will be from original course.  So after the start, there will be a mile markers at .1 miles, 1.1, 2.1, 3.1 (turnaround), 4.3, 5.3 and 6.2 (finish).  Doing this helps in using the certified course.  Next year the course will return to the Shelburne Beach start or be re-certified.
REGISTRATION:Pre-registration encouraged, fill out form located here. Race day registration at Charlotte Beach in Charlotte, Vermont. (8:00 a.m. - 8:45 a.m.)
DIRECTIONS:Take route 7 to the traffic light at the top of the hill just south of Shelburne village. Turn towards the lake onto Bostwick Road. Bear left onto Bostwick Road which turns into Greenbush Rd.  Take right onto Lake Rd, follow down towards lake, park in lots prior to covered bridge.  Alternatively, to preview the course, take Bostwick Rd to Greenbush Rd, take right onto Orchard Rd, follow until ends, and take right onto Lake Rd.
CHILDREN:A free 1/4 mile kid's race will be held just before the 10K at 8:45a.m.
Near the site of the start/finish, there is a full children's playground. (The race does not provide supervision for either of these activities)
ENTRY FEE:$5 Pre-registration/ $8 race day (GMAA members subtract $1)
PRIZES:Top male and female in each age group

AFTER THE RACE:Shelburne Orchards, located near the two mile mark of the race, will be open 9-5 race day. They have apple picking, cider doughnuts, cider and an outdoor wood oven for fresh pies and pizza.
